Hardwood Flooring Installation

To have the flooring you’ve always wanted, you’ll have to start with our hardwood flooring installations. We offer professional hardwood flooring installations that deliver quality service from start to finish. Not only will we come out to measure your interior space, but we’ll then proceed to order the right amount of hardwood necessary for your project and install it accordingly into your home. The hardwood boards will have to be cut and measured to fit the anticipated space so that they’re cohesive and even throughout your home’s interiors.

Types of Wood

When it comes to installing hardwood for the first time, you’re probably wondering what type of wood to choose from or use. That will depend on your preferences and your budget, but for most hardwood flooring projects, we typically recommend oak, maple, or walnut woods. These types of wood are the most affordable and versatile, which also makes them the most popular for most interior flooring projects. We can also recommend cherrywood, which will have a bigger price tag but offers rich color and depth and is incredibly durable.

Installation

The installation process begins by removing any heavy furniture that could hinder adequate installation. We’ll then taper off the edges of your home’s baseboards and begin laying the wood panels into the base. Once we’ve laid them correctly and aligned them with one another, they’ll then be sealed into place and left to dry. If you plan on staining your wood, this will take place after the wood panels have been locked in solid and sanded and buffed.

Stairs

To create an easy transition between areas of your home, we recommend adding hardwood flooring to your stairs. This is done with the same installation methods as before but we have to cut the boards shorter to accommodate the size of the steps. Adding hardwood to your stairs creates an even and uniform appearance throughout your home and serves as a great support for your stairs in general, since hardwood is very durable. Hardwood can also add structural integrity to your stairs, reduce acoustics, and provide easier-to-clean surfaces in comparison to other types of stairs, such as carpeted stairs.

Staining

The final step of hardwood flooring installation is to sand and stain the floors. The sanding process can be messy as the dust will accumulate throughout the home from the wood. We typically use anti-dust sanding machines that reduce the amount of dust buildup on your upholstery, furniture, textiles, and carpets, and make adding the stain color to the top layer of wood easier. After sanding the boards to remove any imperfections, we’ll then proceed to stain them with your desired color. The stain doesn’t compromise the integrity of the hardwood but simply penetrates the top surface and alters the color of the wood to give you more dimension. Wood stains are applied throughout all of the boards and are then left to dry completely. After drying, they’re sealed again with your desired finishing topcoat.
